When Brad arrived here at SevernPlus, we knew we were entering into a process of realx development. Our focus was to help him grow and transform into a complete, rounded person, just like anyone else his age. 

And grow he has. 

Since joining our specialist team of skilled tutors and mentors, he’s thrived, really taking to his studies - which are no longer confined to the enclosed space of a classroom. 

 Josh shows an immense ability to store all kinds of knowledge and detail - and when you’re working in a potentially dangerous environment, it’s these details that will prevent unwarranted events from happening.

 Along with knowledge and experience, come the skills - equal amounts of dedication have been applied to both these disciplines. 

 Brad is due to enter a journey to acquire the necessary land-based skills. He'll be tested on the theory and practical requirements of operating tools like chainsaws in complete safety. 

 This is growth indeed, and as if all this wasn’t enough, Brad has recently partnered with Josh and Ricky, our flamboyant and seasoned students. Both Josh and Ricky, true characters, will have a small influence on Brad’s growth, showing him how to maintain a drive for that entrepreneurial spirit. 

 They’ve recently relaunched and renamed their company to ‘Loggerheads’ (previously Josh’s Logs)

 A promising future awaits all three of them. They’ve already fulfilled real jobs for a handful of clients. Supplying logs to local businesses in readiness for the cold winter months, and also small estate projects such as fencing and decks.

 Between them they can fell and manage the handling & processing of the fallen wood. This includes the removal of the large tree trunks and cutting into large round sections for fuel logs, or larger sections for planking. Next is chopping the large off-cuts into wood-fire friendly, burnable lumps. The drying or curing process 'a science in itself' has been a challenging learning curve for them. Then finally there's the satisfaction of loading and delivering to local businesses, which demands another whole set of skills.

 Brad is just another SevernPlus success story, and we’re all looking forward to him completing his very own history.
